Training session

A succesful training session on sea freight and storage

Last week, we hosted a hands-on training session tailored for breeders of cut flowers, focused on sea freight and long-term storage. With flower logistics becoming more limited and expensive, sea freight and long-term storage are quickly becoming key focus areas.

We covered a lot of ground: from key technical challenges and the reasons behind mixed trial results, to practical solutions and how to set up meaningful experiments. We also dove into topics like post-harvest protocols, Botrytis sensitivity, dehydration, and how breeding decisions impact storage performance.

As our CEO, Jeroen van der Hulst, put it, “Lively discussions and a great exchange of ideas sparked fresh insights and new opportunities, including ways we might collaborate moving forward.”

Thanks to all the breeders who joined us and contributed to such an engaging session!
