A big thank you to Marloes
At the end of May, we say goodbye to Marloes Rodewijk as she leaves FlowerWatch to start a PhD at Wageningen University & Research.
After being our Business Innovator and Data Scientist, Marloes will now work on crop growth models and explore how to adapt these models to new cultivars and new crops, supervised by Silke Hemming, Ep Heuvelink, and Leo Marcelis.
As Suzan van der Poel says, “Marloes is a breath of fresh air. So enthusiastic, always picking things up and getting them done, and she has done amazing work on our Watch‑itT platform.”
Jeroen van der Hulst adds, “What started as a short graduation assignment turned into more than a year with us. In that time, Marloes helped us develop our Watch‑itT platform together with our IT partner Verdel. Now, we’re getting ready to launch the new platform next month at IFTEX 2026. It has been an intense partnership with great results, and we could not have done it without Marloes’s tireless work. We can’t wait to see how it helps our customers improve flower quality, cut costs, and reduce their footprint.”
Marloes, thank you so much. We wish you all the best in your studies, and we are excited to see what your talent and skills will bring to the world of flori- and horticulture.
Curious to know more about the platform developments? Stay tuned for the launch at IFTEX.
